Firefighters Save a Life with Donated Oxygen Mask

Dog Rescue Operation
We are very excited and pleased to know that our September donation of a pet oxygen mask kit to the Lima Fire Department, in cooperation with the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association program, has resulted in a pet's life being saved. On January 3rd, "Cola", a Lab, was rescued from a house fire in Lima, but was unresponsive. After several minutes of oxygen therapy administered by the firefighters, Cola was revived. Thank you to ALL firefighters whose skills, bravery, and personal motivation have saved so many lives, both human and animal! We are thrilled to be a part of this important program, and will be donating two more kits to the Lima Fire Department this month. Thanks to Craig Orosz for this photo. Pet Food Donation Drive

Delphos Animal Hospital helped to make a difference during this holiday season by participating in a pet food donation drive sponsored by the Allen County Dog Warden's Office. We were one of many drop off locations for dog and cat food in the Lima area. The food will be available for families in need from Thanksgiving, until it's gone. Thanks especially to Vicki Kramer, Tim and Kim Lehman, Jeanie Alt, Angel and Jim Osmon, and Margaret Schulte for their donations! What compassion you have shown during this Christmas season!

Local Fire Departments Now Equipped to Give Pets Oxygen

Pet Oxygen Equipment
As part of our 25th Anniversary Celebration, DAH partnered with the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association to purchase pet oxygen mask kits for four local fire departments: Delphos, Lima, American Township, and Spencerville. The kits each contain three different sized masks to fit different sized dog or cat muzzles, and can be used with the departments' own oxygen tanks and lines. Informational DVDs, carry bags, and leashes are also included. Representatives from each department came to the event on Saturday, Sept. 22 to accept the kits.

DAH Adoptathon a Great Success

Pet Adoptathon
Our 25th Anniversary Celebration and Adoptathon was a wonderful day for pets and people alike! The unofficial adoption count from the event is nine pets, with one more being fostered with the potential for adoption! We would like to thank all those who donated items for the pet food drive as well: Bob and Barb Bockey, the Fuge family, Cindy and Frank Becker, Angela and Jim Osmon, Michelle and Mitch Monfort, and everyone else who donated. The raffle was a success as well, and the proceeds were divided among the nonprofit organizations in attendance. Thank you to everyone for the anniversary wishes, and for helping us make a difference in our community!

DAH Helps to Give Back through Family Promise Campaign

Delphos Animal Hospital clients and staff collected items for several families in need during the month of July, during our "Helping Families Gain Independence" Campaign. The items were donated to Family Promise, and organization that provides families with a temporary residence, as well as supplies and financial assistance once they are able to live independently again. Items donated (twelve large boxes full!) ranged from diapers, wipes, and baby clothes, to cleaning supplies, toilet paper and dishes. Executive director of Family Promise, Peggy Adams, was amazed at the display of generosity from our community. Way to go! Here is Dr. Bonnie presenting the items to Peggy Adams.
