2014 Bark for Life a Success
The doctors and staff of Delphos Animal Hospital would like to thank all who contributed to making the second Delphos Relay for Life “Bark for Life” mini-relay another great success. Contributions to the American Cancer Society from this event in 2014 have exceeded $10,000, a phenomenal number for our community, clientele and staff!
Delphos Bark for Life campaigning begins in April each year. In May, we began selling paw print die cuts at Delphos Animal Hospital in honor and memory of our clients and their pets. Bark for Life bone-shaped key chains from the American Cancer Society sold well and were also a great in-hospital fundraiser in May. Our Bark for Life t-shirts custom-designed by Dr. Marisa Tong and Fusion Graphics of Fort Jennings, were new this year, adding $700 to our total.
At the same time that our in-hospital fundraisers were going on, Bark for Life team “captains” were chosen from Delphos Animal Hospital clients, friends, and business associates. Each captain was given the goal of raising $100. Delphos Animal Hospital staff members also served as captains, raising almost $1400.
There are many people to thank for the repeated success of this American Cancer Society event that has raised over $17,500 in the last two years, but we would like to especially acknowledge the following major contributors of time and/or funds to the 2014 Delphos Bark for Life: Karen Robinson, Dave & Kelly Frost Family, Bev & Mike Place, Anne Laman, Fusion Graphics, Dan Warnement and The Creamery, Shari Moorman, Cindy Friedhoff, Kerrie Harrison, Ron & Marcia Conner, Lauri & Jay Brown, Vicki Kramer, Jim Niedecken, Pam Wade & Jane Irwin, Bob Ulm, Laura Price, That Place for Pets, Officer John Dunham and Canine “Bern” of the Lima Police Department.
This list is not all inclusive by any means! We truly appreciate the support of many who contributed in ways big or small, or who encouraged us to “Finish the Fight” through Bark for Life. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and on behalf of people and pets that have been or will be touched by cancer and might benefit from our efforts.
